Antique 18th/19th Century John Jay Family Leather Wallet Folding Pocketbook
Appears to be either 18th or 19th Century and have belonged to a John Jay descendant.
Signed “A.D. Jay”
Numbered “12056”
Signed faintly on another part as well (A.D. Jay) with what appears to be another word above it.

A newspaper clipping was found tucked inside concerning a famous suit owned by John Jay (Chief Justice & Founding Father) that had been left in the estate.
This clipping appears to be from 1929
On reverse is written: “If lost, return Mr. Jay, Warren Mass, Jones Street”
Wallet is very old and shows some normal wear from age & use. Back flap loop has come unstitched on one side: see photos.
