Rare, original 1900\'s Personal Scrapbook / Photo Album - Grace Semour Ackley.Offered is an original early - 20th century personal scrapbook/photo album associated with Grace Ackley of Granville, Licking County, Ohio.
This is a fascinating original personal archive containing numerous original photographs, handwritten captions, correspondence, envelopes, cards advertisements and other ephemera dating primarily from the 1910\'s.
The album contains many photographs personally captioned by Grace, including photographs marked \"me,\" as well as handwritten names, Dates and locations. Among the material are photos dated 1912 and 1914, pages relating to Granville and Mount Vernon, Ohio, social gatherings, friends and family and photos and ephemera connected with the World War l ers.

The album\'s inside cover bears a card identifying Grace Seymour Ackley. Genealogical research also located a Grace Seymour Ackley born January 7, 1895, in Granville, OH. Corresponding census records and death records support this.
The album therefore appears to preserve a genuine personal record of Grace Seymour Ackley\'s young-adult years in Ohio during the 1910\'s. She died in 1979.
The exact circumstances by which the album left Grace\'s possession are unknown. It is being offered as found and no claim is made that every photograph or item was originally placed in the album by Grace herself.
Condition: the album itself is in poor condition, with most of the pages detached. It is very old and shows considerable age and wear. The black album pages have surface wear, scuffing, tears and areas of deterioration. Photographs and paper items have been attached to the pages with period adhesive corners and some items show age-related discoloration or wear.
Please examine the above photos carefully. The photos in this listing are an important part of the description. The album has been left in tact as we received it, with some photos previously removed/missing and the remaining have mostly been fixed with a permanent adhesive, including the banknote.
