Antique 1920-40s Industrial Design Copper Desk Lamp Hubbell Leviton Pull Chain

Condition: Fantastic antique Industrial Design copper chain pull with rotating shade desk lamp. We believe it's in the 1920-40s range. It's in remarkable shape for being around 100 years old and works great (see video).About this lamp:It was made to be either a table lamp or to mount on a wall. There is a keyhole opening on the underside of the base to use for mounting. The inside of the base (which is an iron material) does has a little rust forming. You may want to put a piece or rubber or felt on the bottom to protect your furniture.The ball joint 3/4 way up the stand is a swivel joint. The screw is locked tight in place and it no longer swivels. It's probably an easy fix with some 3 in 1 oil to get it working again. I will leave that up to the new owner. The on/off ball pull chain works great.The top shade is riveted onto the projecting arm brackets. This shade swivels so you can direct the light any way that's desired. It's an oval, almost egg-shape. There's a little green verdigris here and there, but overall the copper has a wonderful shade of old copper penny patina.I have a 40W decorative bulb in it, but it's rated for 250W/250V which is up to a 60W bulb. I will include the 40W bulb when shipping (but be prepared to replace it as sometimes the jarring from shipping can break the bulb element).The socket and chain pull were manufactured by Hubbell. The company mark can be seen on the side of the socket. The plug was manufactured by Leviton. The plug style is two prong non-polorarized with a molded bakelite housing with a side cord. It's marked SA UL, which was most common in 1940s-50s. The cord might not be original to the lamp as it might have been rewired at some point.Both companies made components that were used in the manufacturing of lamps and lighting. There are no other markings on the lamp to point to a definitive maker.Industrial Design took hold in the early 1900s into the 1920s and beyond and modern manufacturing ramped up. Households converted over more from natural gas lighting to electricity during this time. Copper was a preferred metal for it warmness and usability during the Arts and Crafts period, when artists rebelled against machine made goods.Art Deco made use of a lot of copper, too, although the shape or style isn't quite right for Art Deco, either.By the early 1940s, the demand for metals for wartime use probably means these lamps would not have been mass produced during the time because of the scarcity of materials.This is where we come back to the conclusion that this lamp was manufactured in the early part of the 19th century.Some other sales or listings I've come across for similar lamps list them as copper or copper plated over brass. Everything I see on this lamp points to it being copper. I will just put it out there as a reference point, though. The only part that's for sure not copper is the iron piece inside the base.I will professional pack and double box this lamp for shipping.
