This early mechanical lighter uses a spring-operated automatic ignition system. Releasing the side control activates the mechanism, opening the lid and operating the flint wheel to ignite the wick.
The side of the lighter bears the distinctive H.W. logo and “Patent 3” marking.
The dated Haute-Silésie engraving makes this an especially interesting period piece combining early German lighter engineering with European interwar history.

CONDITION
Good antique condition with visible wear consistent with age and previous use.
The brass body shows surface scratches, small marks, spotting, oxidation, discoloration and natural patina. The internal metal mechanism shows age-related wear, darkening and oxidation. The commemorative inscription and engraved industrial scene remain clearly visible.
The automatic mechanism has been tested and is currently operating properly.
