Antique 1925 E. Ingraham 8 Day Tambour Mantel Clock Working Chime Key Pendulum:
$199.95

Beautiful early 20th-century E. Ingraham Co. 8-Day mechanical tambour mantel clock, made in Bristol, Connecticut, USA.

This classic American mantel clock features a sweeping tambour/Napoleon-hat style wooden case with contrasting decorative wood inlay across the lower front. The original-style silvered dial features raised Art Deco-influenced Arabic numerals, decorative hands and the INGRAHAM EIGHT DAY name.

The bottom of the dial is marked MADE IN BRISTOL, CONN. U.S.A.

The original E. Ingraham instruction and guarantee label remains remarkably intact on the inside of the rear access door and is marked The E. Ingraham Co., Bristol, Conn. U.S.A. – Manufacturers of Clocks and Watches – Established 1823.

Based upon the case, dial, movement and styling, this clock dates to approximately the early-to-mid 1920s, circa 1920-1926.

Both winding trains are functional.

* E. Ingraham mantel clock

* Pendulum

* Winding/regulating key

MEASUREMENTS

Width: 19½ inches

Height: 9½ inches

Depth: 4½ inches

Clock weight: approximately 5 lb

CONDITION DETAILS

The wooden case presents very nicely and retains an attractive warm finish and decorative contrasting inlay.

The dial, brass-tone bezel and other components show oxidation, discoloration, surface wear and patina consistent with the clock’s approximately 100-year age. These characteristics have intentionally been left visible rather than aggressively restored.

Please enlarge and examine all photographs, as they form an important part of the condition description.

SHIPPING

This is an antique mechanical clock and will be carefully prepared for shipment.

The pendulum will be removed and individually wrapped, and the winding key will be separately secured so that neither can move inside the clock during transit. The clock itself will be well cushioned and protected inside the shipping carton.

Approximate shipping carton: 24” × 14” × 10”

Estimated packed shipping weight: approximately 8–9 lb

The pendulum must be reinstalled after delivery before operating the clock. Minor regulation may occasionally be necessary after any mechanical clock has been transported.

IMPORTANT

Although this clock has been cleaned, oiled, calibrated and successfully tested for an extended period prior to listing, it is a vintage mechanical clock. Transportation can affect the regulation of pendulum clocks, and minor adjustment after shipping may be required.

A wonderful functional piece of American clockmaking history and an attractive addition to a traditional, Art Deco, vintage or antique interior.
