Antique 1937 bound Abstract of Title documenting the chain of ownership for real estate in Woodward County, Oklahoma (Sections 5, 8, 17, and 18, Townships 21 and 26 North, Range 18 and 19 West, Indian Meridian). Originally compiled by the Woodward Abstract Company, with a 1947 supplemental continuation added by The Jordan Abstract Company.
The abstract traces the property's title history back to an original 1920 Oklahoma land patent from the Commissioners of the Land Office of Oklahoma to George H. Welty, and includes probate records for the settlement of Welty's estate (will, letters testamentary, and final decree, 1921 to 1923), later abstracts of title and tax records for owners Dan S. Root and Victor P. McCoy, and tax record ledgers spanning 1887 to 1925.
Measures 9" x 11.5" x 1/4" thick, cloth bound.
Condition: Overall good/acceptable condition. Part of one edge is damaged. The paper inside is fragile, and parts of it have torn off. All pages appear to remain intact. Cover text and images are all clear and legible. The majority of the pages are in very good to excellent condition with text and images clear. Signs of wear, shelving, and age. Please see photos.
