This is an authentic piece of American industrial history from the second half of the 19th century (estimated 1855–1880).The centerpiece of this tool is its original, authentic iron (blade) manufactured by the renowned Humphreysville Manufacturing Company located in Humphreysville, Connecticut, USA.Historical context: The industrial village of Humphreysville was officially renamed Seymour, CT back in 1850. However, the manufacturing company continued to stamp their premium edge tools with the historic "Humphreysville" name until the late 1870s.
