This stunning antique bronze prize medal features the work of the renowned early 19th-century coin and medal engraver Joseph Nikolaus Lang. Born in Germany, Lang became a prominent medalist highly respected across Europe for his exceptional attention to classical form and detail. His hallmark signature ("LANG") is cleanly struck directly on the obverse face, located just below the figure of Minerva on the bottom right.
