Item Description
This charming, original turn-of-the-century 5\" x 7\" portrait features an infant nestled in a large, dark quilted blanket draped over a chair, likely set outdoors or in a sunlit area. The baby is dressed in a traditional white long gown and a matching lace-trimmed bonnet. The reverse side features a fascinating penciled inscription detailing a local address: \"Mrs W. O. Brimmer, 2 blocks east of Russell Ave., Jefferson City, Tenn.\" This historic piece was acquired directly from a prominent estate spanning the Jefferson County and Sevier County areas of East Tennessee. Specifically, it originates from the family estate of Marshall Seldon Fox and his wife Thula Fox. Records indicate Marshall Fox passed away in 1901 and Thula Fox in 1948, placing this photograph right at the heart of their family\'s history. This is an exceptional find for collectors of early Tennessee history, regional genealogy, or antique childhood photography.

Condition Report: This antique photograph is in good vintage condition for its age, displaying a wonderful historic patina. The central image retains nice clarity and contrast. The grey cardstock mount shows some light corner wear, minor aging, and a partial adhesive/paper remnant on the reverse side from a previous scrapbook or framing attachment. The pencil inscription on the back remains legible. Please examine photos carefully for they are part of the description.
