Antique Lenox Westchester China Sherbet Footed Tazza, circa 1920s
Early Lenox porcelain china sherbet in the Westchester pattern, introduced in 1919. The shallow ivory-colored dish is raised on a flared pedestal foot and decorated with four multicolored floral-basket motifs, a cobalt-blue border, and gold trim.I\'d normally call this a tazza or pedestal bowl, but it appears Lenox called it a sherbet, typically reserved for wide deep champagne glasses. Approximately 3 inches high and 6 3/4 inches across.
The underside carries the early green Lenox wreath backstamp with script L and no “Made in USA” wording, consistent with manufacture before 1931. Additional handwritten factory numbers are present beneath the foot.
Condition
- Very good antique condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs observed.
- One small, faint mark is present in the glaze on the face of the dish.
- A tiny irregularity along the edge appears to be original to manufacture.
- Minor contact wear is present along the underside foot ring.
- The cobalt decoration, floral motifs, and gold trim remain well preserved.

Lenox introduced this floral-basket Westchester pattern in 1919. It is distinct from the company’s earlier gold-encrusted Westchester service which is far more common, started in 1915. The green wreath backstamp without “Made in USA” was used through approximately 1930, placing this example within the pattern’s earliest production period.
