I have here for sale a very interesting example of an antique embroidery or cross stitch sampler. Dated 1844 and by the hand of Ann Sinderley aged 17 July 16 Huntley School.
The top half of the sampler is showing the skill of this young ladies hand with the alphabet and numbers, then some verse "Christ is all Jesus Wept"
Then the bottom half has the very evocative verse carried out by her hand as follows. " The peace of God which passeth all understanding keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God and his son Jesus Christ our Lord Amen". "The soul that sinneth it shall die".
"Ann Sinderley Aged 17 1844 July 16 Huntley School".
A beautiful piece of work with a great history, a museum piece perhaps?
Measuring just over 9 inches by 7 inches and is preserved in a modern frame under glass.
Would make for a superb display piece which can be placed on a shelf or wall hung.
A great talking point and a real unique piece of history.
