The set includes a No. 12 straight-back saw and a No. 112 skew-back saw, both distinguished by carved wooden handles, period Disston hardware and substantial original patina.
Disston catalog literature identifies the No. 12 as one of its finest handsaws, constructed with premium Disston steel, a carefully carved and polished applewood handle, and a thinner-than-standard blade.
The No. 112 was the skew-back counterpart to the No. 12. The No. 12 was produced into the late 1920s, while the No. 112 was documented from the early 1900s through the 1920s.
Both saws display authentic age, oxidation, surface wear and patina consistent with decades of use and storage.
