Antique Doulton Burslem Biscuit Barrel Slaters Lace Patent 314002 Victorian 1885 For Sale

Up for sale is a stunning, authentic late-Victorian ceramic biscuit jar (biscuit barrel) crafted by the highly collectible Doulton Burslem factory in England. Dating between 1891 and 1901, this jar features the Doulton Slater's Patent technique (referenced by US Patent 314,002 stamped on the piece). The patent which was granted in 1885 to Doulton & Slater was for their textured fabric-pressed clay process.

The jar features a hand-painted pink floral design over a textured lace-pressed cream background with gilded gold trim accents. It comes complete with its original ornate metal lid, decorative finial, and overhead handle.

• The jar is pre-owned and in good condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. There is some crazing and some discoloration on the outside and inside (see photos). The handle is slightly off center.
