Offered here is a beautiful antique pair of French Limoges porcelain serving pieces by Haviland, consisting of a covered sugar bowl and a creamer. Although the two pieces coordinate beautifully in form, floral decoration, and gold accents, they carry different Haviland backstamps and are described individually below.
1. Haviland & Co. Limoges Covered Sugar Bowl with Lid
This elegant covered sugar bowl was made in Limoges, France by Haviland & Co. The underside carries the factory marks “Haviland France” and “Haviland & Co. Limoges”, along with a hand-applied red production/decorator number. Haviland & Co. was one of the most important porcelain manufacturers in Limoges, producing high-quality French porcelain extensively for the American market. Haviland reference material dates the commonly encountered “Haviland France” mark to the late 19th/early 20th-century production period, while the red Haviland & Co. Limoges decorating mark was already in use by the late 1800s.
The sugar bowl has a distinctive oval, vertically fluted body, gently scalloped lower edge, two graceful loop handles, and its original fitted domed lid with loop finial. The porcelain is decorated with delicate sprays of pink, blue and soft yellow flowers with green foliage, complemented by hand-applied-looking gold accents along the handles, scalloped edges and lid finial.
The form is closely related to documented Haviland blanks used for several Schleiger patterns, including examples with blue and pink floral decoration, although the exact Schleiger pattern number for this particular decoration has not been conclusively identified. Replacements documents Haviland Schleiger 78B as a Haviland pattern using Blank 23 with blue and pink flowers, but because the floral arrangement on this piece is not an exact visual match, this listing does not identify it as Schleiger 78B with certainty.

Condition is very good for its age. There is expected age-related wear to portions of the gold decoration and a few small surface marks/rubs visible on the body. 2. Theodore Haviland Limoges France Creamer
The matching-style creamer is marked on the underside in red:
“Theodore Applied For”
This is a documented Theodore Haviland decorator mark associated with the early 20th century. Haviland reference material dates Theodore Haviland “Patent Applied For” decorator marks from approximately 1903 through the mid-1920s, placing this creamer firmly in the antique period.
Theodore Haviland established his own Limoges porcelain business in the 1890s after separating from the original Haviland family firm, and his wares became particularly popular in the American market.
The creamer stands approximately 3⅞–4 inches tall, closely matching documented Theodore/Haviland creamers of this period. It features a beautifully molded fluted porcelain body, scalloped and flared pouring rim, elegant curved handle, and small molded feet. The decoration consists of delicate pink floral sprays with blue accents and green foliage, finished with gold detailing on the handle and other raised areas.
The exact Schleiger pattern number has not been confirmed. Its size and form are closely related to several documented Haviland/Theodore Haviland blanks from the early 1900s, but because Haviland often used the same blank with multiple decorations, no unverified pattern number is being assigned here.
The creamer appears to be in very good antique condition, with expected age-related wear to the gold decoration, particularly around the handle and raised areas.
