Antique Enterprise Mfg. Co. No. 25 cast-iron combination sausage stuffer and fruit/lard press with a 4-quart capacity.
This substantial manual press was manufactured by Enterprise Mfg. Co. of Philadelphia and was historically used for stuffing sausage, pressing fruit and processing lard. It features a heavy cast-iron frame, hand-operated crank, exposed gear mechanism, threaded pressing shaft and metal cylinder.
The crank, gears, threaded shaft and pressing mechanism have been tested by hand and move properly, as demonstrated in the included video. The press has not been tested under working pressure, with food or for extended operation.
It remains in authentic antique condition with extensive finish loss, oxidation, discoloration, scratches and other wear consistent with age and previous use. The aged surface gives it an appealing primitive farmhouse and early industrial appearance.
This piece weighs approximately 41 lb 7 oz before packaging. It would make an excellent antique kitchen collectible, farmhouse display, restoration project or functional press after appropriate inspection and preparation.
