Authentic antique two-piece hinged pewter ice cream mold manufactured by the legendary Eppelsheimer & Co. of New York. Operating from the late 19th century through the mid-20th century, Eppelsheimer was widely recognized as one of the premier American makers of high-end commercial confectionery and dessert molds.
This highly collectible mold is cast in the shape of a realistic, segmented piece of fruit—resembling a ribbed peach, orange, or melon. As the photos show, the mold features a heavy, integrated three-knuckle barrel hinge that allows the two halves to swing open effortlessly. The interior matrix is beautifully detailed: one half features a deep, hollowed core point simulating a stem recess, while the opposing half features a crisp, embossed four-pointed blossom star design in the center.
The exterior of the mold is clearly stamped with the manufacturer's hallmark "E & CO. N.Y." alongside the specific pattern classification number "239". For added convenience, the mold includes two small cast-in peg feet opposite the hinge, allowing the piece to stand fully upright for stable display or during the pouring process, as shown.
