Original French apothecary ointment pot dating from around the late 1800s to early 1900s. This small cardboard chemist pot carries its original printed lid from A. Chaumeix, a qualified pharmacist connected with the hospitals of Lyon, later practising in Monistrol-sur-Loire.

These pots were used for ointments and powders and are now widely collected for antique medical displays, curiosity cabinets, photography props, and period décor. The ornate printed border and typography are typical of French packaging of the era and display beautifully.
