This is an authentic antique French porcelain poultry roaster/tureen from the renownedPillivuytfactory in Mehun, France (circa 1900). This "trompe l'oeil" piece features the iconicdouble chicken head finialon the lid and detailedchicken-foot handleson the base. It is finished in a classic terra cotta exterior glaze with a white glazed interior.

* Structural:There is a visible crack on the lid that penetrates through to the white interior.This piece is NOT recommended for oven or food use.
* Details:The original glass bead eyes are missing from the chicken head finial; the sockets are currently empty.
* Wear:Exhibits minor surface abrasions and age-related wear consistent with a 100+ year old piece.
Despite the wear, this remains a highly collectible and beautiful display piece for a French-inspired kitchen or hutch.
