Condition: This glass has chips along the upper rim, as clearly shown in the photos. The etched Green Valley Rye advertising remains quite attractive and legible. Sold as a collectible/display piece due to the rim damage.
The glass features an elegant etched design reading “Green Valley – 1865 – Rye.” Green Valley Rye was a whiskey brand associated with Casey Brothers of Scranton, Pennsylvania, a prominent wholesale liquor firm operating during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Period advertising confirms Green Valley Rye was being marketed before Prohibition.
A scarce piece of early American whiskey advertising and an interesting addition to a collection of pre-Prohibition barware, etched whiskey glasses, distillery advertising, or Pennsylvania/Scranton memorabilia.
