Original antique H.C. White “The Perfect Scope” stereoscopic photograph viewer dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
Metal viewer body is stamped “THE PERFECT SCOPE” along with U.S. patent information. Also stamped:
“JAMES W. QUEEN’S AGENT / 21 WASHINGTON PL. / NEW YORK U.S.A.”
Features twin stereoscopic viewing lenses, turned wooden handle, sliding focus mechanism, wooden stereograph card holder with wire retaining clips, and original-style fabric padding around the viewing hood.
Shows substantial authentic age-related wear including oxidation, finish loss, scratches, worn fabric and patina throughout. Wood components show normal wear but present very nicely. Please review photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
A great display piece for collectors of early photography, stereoviews, optical instruments and Victorian-era photographic equipment.
