Dates from the Victorian era -the green maple leaf mark was circa 1891-1911.

Features an incredibly lavish & lushFABULOUS hand painted 22K gold gilt \'lace\' on the sapphire blue border with slightly raised moriage \'beading\' and swirling. Gold is extremely generously applied. Central artwork features hand painted roses in light and dark pink, and smaller green leaves. Coming up from the blue border are 5 cross shaped designs with a background color of jewel toned teal green/blue. Snowy white porcelain background.

Excellent condition- just about PRISTINE. No nicks chips cracks scratches fading or repair. Gold is essentially unworn and not faded or darkened.As lovely an example of this plate as to be found. No cutlery marks as this was obviously a treasured display piece.

Highly collectible- great as a cabinet display piece, a centerpiece, or many people use plate hangers to hang these on a wall. Gorgeous image.

Nice and heavy, fully marked with all maker info on back. HAND PAINTED NIPPON pieces were created at the zenith of the most ornate time period for these plates to be made- the very best of the best. The company later became Noritake.
