Authentic antique Masonic ballot box used for lodge voting procedures. Constructed of wood with a curved top, brass carry handle, side voting opening, and internal collection drawer. Includes the wooden voting balls and black cubes shown in the photos.
Historically, Masonic lodges used ballot boxes such as this to vote on membership petitions and lodge business. White balls represented approval while black cubes represented rejection. The votes were deposited through the side opening and collected in the drawer for counting.
