Antique original cabinet card photograph depicting Native American subject identified as “Lone Dog,” photographed by L.W. Stilwell of Deadwood, South Dakota.

Stilwell operated a well-known frontier photographic studio in Deadwood during the late 19th century, producing portraits of Plains Native Americans during the Black Hills gold rush era. His work is collected within Western Americana and Native American historical photography.

The photograph remains housed in an ornate antique decorative metal frame and is offered together as found from an estate.
