Attractive antique handwoven coiled basket featuring a bold geometric design worked in dark and natural plant fibers.
This is a particularly appealing older example with tightly worked coiled construction, a nicely wrapped rim, and geometric decoration continuing around the sides. The interior has a circular geometric pattern, while the underside shows the hand-worked construction and considerable natural aging.
Measures approximately 5-3/4 inches in diameter and 3-1/4 inches high.
Estate fresh condition with expected age-related wear, fading, darkening, surface irregularities and minor losses or breaks to individual fibers. The basket retains a very pleasing old surface and patina. Please examine all photographs closely for condition and construction.
