Antique Native American Twined Basket Bowl Geometric Design 5.5” As Is
Antique handwoven basket bowl featuring dark brown geometric designs against a natural tan background. The basket has a rounded base, gently flaring sides, and a wrapped rim.
This basket came from the estate of a collector of Native American artifacts who lived in Northern California. Its exact age, maker, tribal affiliation, and plant materials are unknown. The construction may be consistent with Northern California basketry, but no definite attribution is being made.
Approximate Measurements:
5 1/2 inches across the opening x 3 inches tall
Condition:
Antique, well-used condition with substantial age-related deterioration. The exterior displays well, but the interior has numerous broken and missing fibers, loose material, worn areas, and exposed foundation weaving. There is also wear and fiber loss along portions of the rim. The shape is slightly irregular. Please examine all photographs carefully for the complete condition.
Sold as found and as is. Best suited for careful display, study, or restoration.
