The entire piece is intricately sectioned with heavy gold-gilt paneled borders and covered in extensive moriage work, featuring distinct rows of tiny raised porcelain beads that catch the light beautifully. The lid includes the traditional central circular aperture originally designed for ladies to collect loose hair from their combs for vanity use.
