Hand Painted Nippon (blue)
A gorgeous little piece of early 1900s Japanese porcelain, hand painted with a soft scenic landscape of trees and open meadow in buttery yellow, sage, and moss green. The kind of thing that makes a tea table look like it belongs in a period film.
Fully hand painted scenic decoration no two are identical
Raised beaded and jeweled band in black and white enamel around the rim
Attached underplate (one solid piece — it does not separate)
Includes the original matching porcelain spoon
Marked \"Hand Painted Nippon\" in blue on the base
Nippon marking was required on Japanese exports until 1921, dating this piece to roughly 1891–1921
Measurements: [height with lid] 4\" tall x [underplate diameter] 4 1/2\" across the plate
Condition: Lovely antique condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs — light wear to the painted surface consistent with age.
