Beautiful mid-19th-century French porcelain teacup and saucer featuring a distinctive pale lime green iridescent luster finish with elegant gilt decoration.
The base carries two important marks: G.B. Breveté Paris, a documented mark associated with Gillet & Brianchon lustred china, and the red E.V. Haughwout & Co., Broadway, New York retail mark. Historical museum documentation confirms Haughwout\'s role in decorating imported French porcelain in New York during this period.
Condition: Very good antique condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The cup is particularly well preserved, with very good gilt decoration. There is some rubbing/wear to the gold gilt along the saucer rim. The saucer displays irregular lighter areas within the pale lime green luster finish. These appear to be natural variations in the original pearlescent glaze rather than areas of wear or loss. Please see the photographs.
