I acquired this banner along with a few other items from descendants of William H. Slee (1865-1941), 2nd US Volunteer Cavalry, Troop H (Wyoming). Slee was the proprietor of The Club Saloon in Walden, Colorado. Trade tokens for \"The Club Saloon - W.H. Slee, Prop.\" turn up occasionally on .
Additional information from the Ancestors website: William H Slee was born on 8 November 1865, in Dodge, Nebraska, United States. He married Laura Elizabeth Ketcham (1852-1939) on 7 January 1903, in Walden, Larimer, Colorado, United States. He Married Kathryn H Meyer (1890–1978) on 20 July 1940 in Walden, Larimer, Colorado, United States. He lived in Jackson, Colorado, United States in 1910. He registered for military service in 1898. In 1885, his occupation is listed as north park cowboy in Walden, Larimer, Colorado, United States. He died on 25 May 1941, in Walden, Jackson, Colorado, United States, at the age of 75, and was buried in Walden, Jackson, Colorado, United States.CONDITION:
Some typical handling wear: scattered small cracks to the smaltz; some subtle discoloration (darkening) to the smaltz upper right corner; a small amount of light oxidation to the steel bar on back in this same area. See photos. I don\'t find any of this terribly conspicuous.
The ribbon is intact but appears to be fragile with age and I would not rely on it for hanging the banner.
Otherwise the banner is generally in very good original condition with no damage and no significant wear. No restorations / touch ups.
No tears, breaks. No losses to the smaltz. No bends to the steel bar. No other significant oxidation / corrosion.
Generally clean as found. No other spots, stains or discolorations. No noticeable fading or color irregularity. No unpleasant odors.
Displays well.
