Beautiful matched pair of antique Bohemian opaline art glass vases, possibly by the renowned Ludwig Tischer decorating studio of Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary), Austria-Hungary, and dating to approximately 1890–1910.
These elegant cabinet vases feature a creamy ivory opaline glass body with delicately shaded pink necks, richly hand-painted chrysanthemum blossoms and buds, and intricate raised gilt enamel vines and foliage. The quality of the decoration, polished pontil bases, and overall craftsmanship are characteristic of fine Karlsbad-decorated glass from the turn of the twentieth century.
As the vases are unsigned, the Tischer attribution is based on stylistic comparison with documented examples and should be considered an informed attribution rather than a guaranteed identification.

Polished pontil bases with hand-painted decorator\'s numbers on one vase bottom - looks like a triangle/H and 2/6.
Condition: Good antique condition. One has a superficial linear chip on the neck - 1.25 inches, toward the back so it is not visible on a shelf. It is visible from the top. No cracks observed. Some staining on the bottoms that I did not attempt to remove. There is light age-related wear to the gilding consistent with over 100 years of careful use. Please examine all photos carefully, as they form an important part of the description.
These are exceptional display pieces that would make a wonderful addition to any collection of Bohemian art glass, Victorian decorative arts, Art Nouveau, or antique opaline glass.
