Fine Antique PA German embroidered needlework show towel. I believe materials are linen and cotton. Found in southeastern PA. The name appears to read Barbara Seibelin. Dated 1831 on top panel and 1837 bottom panel.A Pennsylvania German show towel is a decorative, highly embroidered 18th- or 19th-century linen textile used purely for display rather than drying. Rooted in European traditions, these pieces showcased a young woman's needlework skills for her dowry.In amazing condition with no signs of any real damage. Slight discoloration to right side of top panel, visible to reverse. Item has not been cleaned or conserved.Measures 33” L x 14” W (overall)
