Antique Photo Glass Paperweight Silurian Spring Waukesha Wisconsin Mineral 1900s For Sale

• From the years when the whole country came to Waukesha to drink the water: a photographic glass paperweight of the Silurian Spring pavilion, from a resort era that has since dried up completely
• Waukesha was the Saratoga of the West, a mineral spring town that drew visitors nationwide to its springhouses, and Silurian Spring is on the National Register of Historic Places
• Rectangular glass over a sepia photograph of the pavilion with its black paper backing still in place. Searching turned up no other paperweight from this spring, only postcards, so it is an uncommon survivor with a named, documented subject rather than an anonymous view
• Condition in full: the image is tan toned with moderate fading and scattered small dark foxing spots across the upper right, the glass carries dust and light residue, there are small chips in the rim at the top and at the lower right corner, and the black paper backing has scattered small tan spots with light wear along the tan border edge
