Antique Postcard Lot 4 Edwardian Lady Parasol Photo Glamour Undivided Back For Sale

1. Antique postcards — 4 pcs, sold together as a matched set. Each measures approx. 5.5" x 3.66". Sepia-toned images of a young woman in draped costume with a flower crown and a Japanese parasol, photographed in a studio. All four come from the same session and carry consecutive series numbers: S-260-3979, S-260-3980, S-260-3981 and S-260-3982. A small circular publisher's monogram with interlocking letters is printed in the lower left of each card.
2. Undivided backs — each card is printed "Postkarte — Carte postale, Weltpostverein / Union postale universelle" in ten languages including Russian, with no dividing line. This style of back was standard before roughly 1905–1907, which places the set in the early 1900s.

CONDITION

Unused and unposted. No stamps, no postmarks, no writing of any kind. Here is everything I found when I looked them over:

• All four cards are intact, with no tears, no creases and no bends.
• The corners are clean with only very slight wear.
• I see light age toning to the card stock, normal for paper of this age.
• There are scattered small foxing spots and specks, more visible on some backs than others. I photographed the backs so you can judge for yourself.
• One card shows a few faint reddish marks in the image area. To my eye these are age spots in the paper rather than damage to the image surface.
• The images are clear with good contrast and fine detail.
• The images appear photographic rather than printed — the dark areas show a bluish sheen under angled light, and I feel no surface change between the image and the borders — but I am not able to confirm this with certainty. Please judge from my close-up photos.
• I have not cleaned, pressed or repaired anything. These are exactly as I found them.

I date them by the printing style and the undivided back rather than by a signed attribution, and I have not identified the model, the photographer or the publishing house behind the monogram. Measurements are approximate and taken by hand. Because these cards are over a century old, please expect the age toning and foxing I described above.
