Antique Roseville Magnolia conch shell, 1940s, brownThis is a beautiful Magnolia conch shell; it is 10 inches wide; it is marked Roseville USA 454–8 and was made in the 1940s. There is a chip on the underside of one of the feet; is not visible at all until you turn it over. The other light areas on the underside of the shell are just areas in which the glaze did not fully cover the bisque. The dark brown areas to the right of the Roseville markings appear to be just collections of extra glaze; it does not appear that those areas are repainted or refinished. There are tiny white dots on the dark green area. There are no cracks in this piece and no chips other than the one on the underside of the foot.
