Antique Circa 1900 Royal Vienna-Style Porcelain Portrait Plate with Jewel-Like Raised Decoration.
An exceptionally decorative antique Royal Vienna-style porcelain portrait cabinet plate, dating to approximately 1900. The central portrait depicts an elegant young woman in a softly draped gown, surrounded by a rich burgundy ground and layers of intricate gilt ornamentation.
The scalloped border is embellished with elaborate floral motifs, raised gilding and applied enamel accents that catch the light beautifully. Finely detailed and richly colored, this Continental European plate was intended for cabinet or wall display and has wonderful old-world presence.
The underside is signed Mignon Z.S. & CO Bavaria. On the underside is also stamped Royal Vienna and Amicitia.
Condition:
Antique condition with a repair of the gilt overlay along the upper-right rim. The repair remains visible and includes associated crack lines, surface irregularity and small areas of loss. Additional rubbing and wear to the gilding are consistent with age. Please review all photographs closely, as they form an important part of the condition description.
