No chips or cracks! The etching is a little imperfect on the word whiskey
Antique Silver Leaf Whiskey etched advertising shot glass from Richmond, Virginia, dating to the pre-Prohibition era, circa 1900โ1915.
Silver Leaf was a Richmond whiskey brand associated with Miller & Nicholas and later Frank Miller, a Richmond liquor dealer whose business operated during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Period Richmond newspaper advertisements promoted Silver Leaf Whiskey, and Silver Leaf advertising dating to 1907 is preserved in the Smithsonianโs Warshaw Collection of Business Americana.
The glass features the original frosted/etched SILVER LEAF WHISKEY advertising design with a large leaf motif. This style of Silver Leaf glass has also been documented in collections of pre-Prohibition Virginia whiskey advertising and barware.
A nice piece of early Richmond, Virginia history and a great addition to a collection of pre-Prohibition whiskey advertising, antique shot glasses, Virginia bottles or breweriana.
