Antique Spanish Colonial or Portuguese Gilt Metal Santo Crown, c . 1780-1850 For Sale

Small, 1.5”H x 1.5”D, hand-crafted gilt copper alloy devotional crown (corona), either Spanish Colonial or Portuguese, c. 1780-1850. It was intended for a carved Santo or religious figure. The crown features pierced Rococo-style ornamentation surrounding a beaded lower band, surmounted by a small cross. A central mounting spike projects from the base for insertion into the head of the sculpture. The original sided finish has worn naturally and beautifully over time.
