Up for sale is an antique Stanley Insulating Co. vacuum pitcher from the historic Wianno Hotel/Wianno Club (Osterville, Cape Cod, Ma.) sourced right here on the Cape. This heavy-duty, double walled steel vacuum-insulated hotel pitcher features the highly collectible “Great Barrington, Mass.” makers mark stamped into the base plate, complete with a beautifully documented industrial timeline. The front of the carafe features a beautifully crisp, elegant engraving: a stylized WH monogram framed by a detailed oak leaf wreath tied with a ribbon bow. This custom crest belongs directly to the Wianno Hotel. Please note when the Stanley Company moved from Massachusetts to Connecticut around 1933 they continued using the Great Barrington base plates for a few years running them out before they transitioned to the new bottoms. The history of the maintenance and audit codes are hand etched into the base of the piece showing its active service. For example marks 10A34 and 11X35 capture dates of October 1934 and November 1935. This captures the Wianno Club room service upgrade cycles from the Hotel to the Wianno Club in the mid 30’s. Other hand scratched numbers 72R and 12237 shows hotel silver stewards inventory tracking. The pitcher has its original aged patina and remains in fantastic usable condition. The inner metal liner is fully intact as well.
