What a fabulous find this is definitely a Victorian oul lamp, a student oil lamp, and it has been electrified. It is made of a heavy brass and shows its age due to a little bit of oxidation here and there on the brass, check the photos. I don’t find any makers mark on this, but it looks a lot like the Manhattan brand student OIL lamp.
Sometime in the 1940s or 50s perhaps it appears that it was electrified and it works. The reason I say 40s or 50s is based on the style of the electric plug. The lamp works simply by plugging it in there is no on and off switch there is no in-line switch in the cord.
Both of the shades fit this lamp. I believe that these are cased glass as opposed to painted glass. I see no scratches or issues with either of these shades certainly no cracks or no repairs.
Please view all the photos they will show you that this lamp is 20 inches tall that the opening fitting for the bottom of the lampshade is 7 1/2” in diameter and its condition.
