Antique Tibetan Himalayan Ornate Dagger Sword with Decorative Sheath For Sale

This is a beautiful Tibetan dagger/sword in a decorative sheath. The dagger comprises a straight, single-edged blade with a tapering point, fitted with a metal hilt and an accompanying sheath. The hilt is cast and engraved with scrolling vegetal ornament, terminating in a stylized pommel set with a small red cabochon. The grip section is encircled by closely spaced ribbed bands, providing both visual articulation and functional handling. A shallow guard separates the hilt from the blade, decorated en suite with incised motifs.The blade shows surface oxidation, pitting, and discoloration consistent with age and use, with the edge remaining visible but softened. The sheath is constructed with a decorated metal surface worked in relief with dense floral and foliate designs, bordered by raised edges. Three cabochon settings, including turquoise-colored stones and a red example, are mounted on the front face, arranged vertically. The decorative motifs and materials correspond to Himalayan dagger types produced in the early 1900s, often combining functional blades with elaborate metalwork intended for ceremonial display, status symbolism, or devotional association.
