Antique Victorian Lithographed Tin Tray Girls Tea Party Doll Dog c.1900
Description:
Charming late Victorian lithographed tin child’s tray featuring a delightful domestic tea-party scene. Four young girls gather around a table set with tiny cups, sandwiches and sweets, while one child pours tea for her doll. A little brown dog stands begging at the edge of the table. The scene is wonderfully detailed, from the girls’ large hair bows and pinafores to the mantel clock and patterned wall covering.
The image is surrounded by a dark blue border with salmon, yellow and gold decorative accents. A particularly appealing example of late-19th-century childhood imagery, ideal for a collection of antique toys, children’s tea sets, early tinware, dolls or Victorian nursery décor.
Likely dating to approximately 1890–1905. No maker’s mark is visible.
Measurements:
Approximately 8¾ inches long by 6¼ inches high.
Condition:
Antique condition with considerable age-related wear, including scattered surface oxidation, dark spotting, scratches, areas of lithographic loss and a larger worn area near the upper-right edge. The reverse has substantial oxidation and surface wear. There may be minor bends or irregularities consistent with age and use, but the tray retains strong color and a highly appealing central scene. Please examine all photographs closely, as they form an important part of the condition description.
