ANTIQUE VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER CASED SCENT / PERFUME BOTTLE
Beautiful and highly decorative antique English scent/perfume bottle featuring a removable green glass inner bottle enclosed in an ornate silver case.
The silver case is richly decorated with detailed repoussé relief depicting cherubs/putti, floral motifs, scrollwork and classical figures. The case opens on a hinge and has a hinged round top.
The interior green glass bottle is removable and appears to be original to the piece.
The silver case bears English hallmarks, including the Lion Passant, Leopard's Head and W.C. maker's mark. The date letter appears to be “B”. The marks are visible in the photographs and should be examined by the buyer.
The W.C. mark is consistent with William Comyns, a well-known English silversmith. The exact attribution and date are offered based on the visible hallmarks and are not independently certified.
