This exquisite antique lay-down perfume bottle is a classic token of late Victorian elegance, dating to circa 1900. Crafted to be tucked into a lady’s evening purse, displayed on a vanity mirror, or attached to a formal chatelaine assembly, these tiny vessels allowed their owners to carry fine custom fragrances or aromatic smelling salts on the go. The bottle features a beautifully preserved sterling silver screw-on cap intricately decorated with ornate Edwardian scroll and repousse work. Both the cap's exterior face and the inner rim are clearly stamped "STERLING", ensuring metallurgical authenticity.

Excellent antique condition. The deeply wheel-cut glass body remains bright and luminous with no major chips, cracks, or clouding; the tiny notched teeth along the ridges are remarkably crisp to the touch. The sterling silver cap screws on smoothly and securely to the threaded glass neck. The silver features a gorgeous natural age-tarnished patina that emphasizes the depth of the repousse scrollwork; it can be polished to a high shine by the buyer if desired.
