Vintage Virgin Mary / Our Lady of Lourdes Plastic Statue – CMP Corp.
This is a mid-century molded devotional statue of the Virgin Mary, likely dating to the late 1930s through 1950s. The bottom mark for “Consolidated Molded Products Corp.” (CMP) and “Made in U.S.A.” points to an American mass-produced religious figure made during the huge postwar boom in home Catholic décor.
The styling is classic Lourdes-inspired:

- Sacred heart/radiant chest detail

Our Lady of Lourdes
“Lady of Lourdes” refers to Virgin Mary as she reportedly appeared to a young girl named Bernadette Soubirous in 1858 in the small town of Lourdes.
According to Catholic tradition, Bernadette — a poor 14-year-old miller’s daughter — saw a glowing lady dressed in white with a blue sash appearing in a grotto near the town. The figure eventually identified herself as the “Immaculate Conception,” a hugely important Catholic doctrine that had only recently been formally declared by the Church.
The visions became one of the most famous Marian apparitions in the world.
