Up for sale is a unique piece of military history, a vintage brass artillery shell casing repurposed as a functional "trench art" piece. This heavy-walled brass item has a solid weighted base with a visible primer, characteristic of field-repurposed militaria.
Material: Solid Brass with a deep, aged bronze-tone patina.
Design: Cylindrical form with a wide, flanged base. The interior shows authentic green oxidation (verdigris) consistent with age.
Function: Ideal as a match holder, toothpick holder, small succulent planter, or a heavy-duty desk paperweight.
This item is in good vintage condition with a heavy, authentic aged patina. There is visible surface wear and oxidation (verdigris) on the interior, as shown in the photos, which adds to its historical character. The brass is structurally sound with no cracks or major dents.
