TheCzech-Slovak Protective Society(CSPS), which became theCzecho Slovakian Association, was an organization supporting the welfare ofCzechandSlovakimmigrants to theUnited States. The Czech-Slovak Protective Society started as an insurance services organization.[1]It was once the largest Czech-Americanfreethoughtfraternity in the United States.[2]
This was the original org which evolved into SPJST in La Grange, Texas in March 1897 giving them the security of fraternal life insurance and belonging to a progressive social organization.
