DESCRIPTION:
Up for sale is an authentic, globular Pre-Columbian earthenware vessel originating from West Mexico. Measuring a substantial 6" x 5", this hand-coiled pot features a beautiful bulbous body, a short-necked rim, and a stable, rounded bottom. The exterior is decorated with wide horizontal bands of deep red-brown slip, historically produced using natural manganese oxide.This piece comes directly out of a prominent estate collection put together during the 1970s and 1980s, offering excellent historic chain of custody. The original collector's handwritten informational display tag is included with the purchase.CONDITION:
Excellent, stable ancient condition. The pot exhibits authentic age indicators, including surface pitting, minor historic rim flakes, and rich mineral encrustations consistent with long-term burial.
