This is not a cheap flimsy metal pin with a wobbly back.It is nicely manufactured and about the thickness of a United States one cent coin. The clutch back is strong and fits tight.
The pin is "cloisonné" effect; the pins are die-struck/stamped and then enamel coloring is applied by hand. The color sits lower than the raised metal lines giving the pin a textured look and feel, creating the designs. No epoxy coating is included on this pins--the resulting effect is shiny and brighter and dressier than with the epoxy "cap".
