DETAILS: Hard to find photograph of female workers of the Baldwin Locomotive Company. Note that the woman holding the firearm is a BLW railroad police officer officer (railroad detective). These two photos were taped together for an article that appeared in print on women contribution to the war effort during World War II. Both images are rare as the vast majority ofBLW workers. However the image of the female officer is exceptionally hard to come by. We have searched the past20 years of online sales historyas well asOCLC academic institutional holdings and have been unable to find a another example of a female BLW officer.Most likely the only example left in example.
