Susie W. Crank Navajo Pottery
This is a beautiful burnished Navajo pot created by the famous artist Susie W. Crank. I purchased this item in New Mexico in 2016 and have only rarely displayed it. It is in excellent condition and is hand signed on the bottom by the artist. The artist is a sister of another great pottery artist, Alice Cling. The mother of both artists is also a famous artist...Rose Williams!
The traditional Navajo pots are hand made using a clay and coil method. They are pit fired and polished with stones, and thus, burnished. The result is a beautiful glossy and rustic brown finished work of art. I have included several photos and many have light reflections...the item is difficult to photograph inside or outside of my home.
Shipping for this piecewill be via UPS Ground or USPS Ground Advantage, and insured for your purchase price. I will ship the item in a box and then place that box in another larger box to better ensure it travels safely to the buyer.
The Navajo pot is approximately 7 inches tall,and6 inches wideat its widest point. The opening at the top of the work is 3 inches across. It weighs 1 poundand 13 ounces. It is beautifully made!
